Where Things Stand Today
Most Bioheat® fuel is currently delivered at blend levels between B2 and B20, meaning 2% to 20% of the fuel comes from renewable liquid fuel.1 That’s already making a difference in millions of homes, and it’s just the starting point.
Where Things Are Headed
The industry has set a target of reaching a 50% renewable blend by 2030. Several states have already written that commitment into law with mandatory blend targets, and more are moving in that direction.
What This Means for Environmental Impact
The emissions potential is significant, and it grows as blend levels increase:
- Soy renewable liquid fuel reduces greenhouse gases by an average of 57% compared to fossil diesel.2
- Renewable liquid fuel produced from waste grease reduces them by as much as 86%.3
- A 30% average blend level alone could cut emissions by approximately 7 million metric tons of CO2 per year.2
The Path to 2050 Includes Bioheat® Fuel
